So I'm Putting My House On The Market, and Do Colors Really Matter?

Yes they do.

Watch The Video for More Information.

I am always asked by people should they paint their home and what color should they paint their home?  One of my favorite colors is Accessible Beige. The other one is Agreeable Gray. Why is that? Well you probably have heard a lot of people talk about greige. It's the gray, beige phenomenon that we're seeing everywhere. When you go to Lowe's, Home Depot, Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, or any other paint store, and you see whole varieties of this kind of color.

One thing that I have found in all the years of Selling Real Estate is greige colors actually change according to where they are in your room. Sometimes you could see this exact same color and it actually looks more gray, sometimes more brown, sometimes it even has a kind of a little green tint to it. But it's all a reflection.

Does the type of paint that you use really matter? Yes, it does. There's a reason why Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore are the major sellers of paint. I know Home Depot has Behr paint, and Lowe's has Valspar, but the quality of the paint actually reflects in how it is viewed in the room. You don't wanna go through all the money, paying for having a beautiful paint job done with great colors, white trim, white ceiling, and have it pop only to have a very flat paint.

I don't know how these big companies do it, but some reason, somehow they have technology that's actually create a paint that changes colors as it adapts to the room. So not saying that Home Depot or Lowe's don't have it, but I am saying that I have found it with these two.

I did find recently Revere Pewter. Sounds like a really great old mug that we used to have. No, it's actually a really good color with Benjamin Moore. And that's going into a new listing of mine that I'm getting ready to put on the market over on Latney over in the Fairfax area. Great townhouse.

So does it matter, should you stay with this color paint? Or this color paint? Or go something that the camera's gonna really like? Accessible beige, agreeable gray. Tones that go with everything. It's that greige that we've been hearing so much about.
